The Grandeur of Chambord


Chateau of Chambord, the Loire's grandest castle, birthed as François I's hunting lodge in 1519 and reaching its full splendor under Louis XIV. Encircled by a 32-kilometer wall, its  5440-hectare estate stands as Europe's largest enclosed forest park. The castle boasts 440 rooms, 365 fireplaces, and over 70 staircases: even in miniature, it's colossal!
